2014 wagon tailgate closure question

My 2011 ML350 allowed me to use the key fob to close the tailgate if I was outside of the vehicle and walking away. I have a 2014 E350 wagon now (with keyless entry pkg) but the key fob does not close the back tailgate, it only opens it. Likewise the lock button on the key fob does not do it either. Only way I have gotten the tailgate to close outside of the vehicle is pressing the buttons on the tailgate. From the inside, with the car on (maybe just key position 1 or 2) does the button in the driver's door work if I keep pressing it until the tailgate closes.

I do not feel the owner's manual says the key fob will close the back tailgate but I thought I read someone mention it does on their wagon (may have been in Canada). Any 2014 wagon owners able to use their key fob to close the back tailgate?

I miss the ability to do that for certain circumstances so curios if it is as designed.

Thanks.

By design MB only allows their SUVs (and R-Class however you want to classify that car) as having the ability to close the trunk with the keyfob.

The sedans and wagons do not have this feature.

In order to enable this feature there are two different methods, both of which require hardware.

There is this video in motion module (which also allows you to input nav addresses while the car is moving http://www.ebay.com/itm/261281467593 but it also requires an add on. The module will end up being about $200 to add the trunk closing feature.

There's also the Kufatec trunk module which costs $170 http://www.kufatec.com/shop/en/Trunk...s-E-Class-W212 which only allows you to close the trunk.

I personally am going to buy the Video in Motion when I get my wagon as I (have the passenger) input address while in motion and I get the bonus of being able to close the trunk. If you have any questions send Vladimir a message on eBay and he can tell you more.
