2014 E350 Won't Shift
After a long day at work I head to the parking deck, start my car up fine, but can't shift it out of Park. Literally try everything, which doesn't work. Wait 2 hours for a MB arranged tow that never showed, so I just went home. Unhooked the batteries before I left it for the night.
Came back the next morning, hooked up the batteries. Car started fine but still won't shift. Tow truck shows 3 hours later and takes the car to the dealership. Service advisor says the shifter is bad. 2 days to get the part.
I guess it could be worse. Hope I never need roadside again because it sucks!

You should have called another towing company instead of waiting.MB would still pay the bill. I had a similar experience with the tow truck and and there were no qualms from MB about payment for the towing.

I agree with this 100% calling the "generous" MB road side service not showing up in two hours is just not acceptable.
I would have called the closest tow truck and have them haul it after 30 min wait unless you broke down in the middle of the desert...
You know what, a triple A membership is good to have especially if you have more than one driver in the house. I think they do a better job getting a tow truck.
