Did anyone paint their grille?

So I found some w212 grilles online for about 100usd. Could you scuff off the chrome and/or paint over it? If any of you guys did, I would appreciate any info in doing so. Thanks!

there was a thread about it.. but you can paint over chrome with paint or plasti dip...

I had mine painted thrice! (E class)
the guys took it apart and painted it.....when it did chip, as I knew it would, I used a sharpie to fill in the spots.......
I have a star grill you could have for 100usd........are you outside of the US?

edit: not sure if it would fit a 2012.....
