iPhone 6 doesn't connect to my media interface
#26
So Following up as promised: A2DP plugged into the media interface cable, car says it is incompatible. A2DP connects to the phone but won't connect to the car. It is unfortunate. I had such high expectations for it.
Oh well....

Post #8 from ccryan67 in October is exactly the problem I am having. As soon as I connect it starts randomly playing music from my library. If I select another playlist or streaming app it will change to what I selected, but if I end my choice the random library playing comes back on. The only way to control it seems to be to unplug. Surely this can't be how it's supposed to work?

Media Interface NOT advancing tracks
i have a 2015 ML350. The media interface was working perfectly with my iphone 5s fine until a few days ago. nothing has changed in either the phone or vehicle settings. i cannot advance to the next track while connected to media interface. i can advance tracks connected via bluetooth. i prefer to be connected to media interface. i have left 2 messages with my dealer with no response. i have rebooted phone and no change. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I found this on an Apple support site. Maybe this will help.

Re: Same problems as others connecting my Iphone6 to a 2013 Mercedes E350 and a 2013 Volkswagen Passat. Apple needs to fix this immediately! in response to Sperberlaw I've communicated with someone having issues connecting an iPhone 6 to a MB and they found they had to remove the phone from the car list and then re-pair the device. Most of this problem comes from updating a device with the backup of an older phone. The phone retains the same name from the old phone, but there is a different hardware address when the device tries to connect to the car. Generally removing the vehicle from the Bluetooth list on the phone and then removing the phone from the list in the car and then putting both back into discovery mode corrects it. An additional step of resetting network settings on the phone may be necessary as well.

Has anyone figured out a solution to this yet ? My phone works with streaming music through bluetooth, but I can no longer connect the phone and use the media interface. This morning I tried turning the phone off and then back on and connecting, it worked for about a minute and then stops ( I actually did this twice with the same results )
I have a 2014 e350 and my iPhone is on version 9.2.1
The phone used to work fine with the media interface when I bought it a year ago but it seems now after a couple of software updates on the iPhone it no longer does ( I do not have any problems streaming music via bluetooth though )
Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Nick

For those of you experiencing this issue, this worked for me:
I too have suffered from this problem since taking ownership of my E220 CDI back in November 2013. I have discovered a workaround. This is not a fix, but merely a way to prevent the Media Interface from going into its loop activation mode.
Once your iPhone is connected, simply turn on Airplane Mode. After about 10 secs, once you realize that it has stopped the looping, turn off Airplane mode. the Media Interface should no longer keep turning off and on. This always works for me. Good luck to anyone who tries it.

I have S550 and I finally was able to fix the problem
You need to reset the comand system
Go to vehicle setting, on the screen left lower corner click on system settings then choose rest system
You will loose everything stored but you will be able to connect iPhone to mecia
