MB Service Manual CD's
I do most of my own work on my cars, outside of warranty items, so I always try to get the factory service manuals for them. In most cases I find pdf versions on ebay for very low cost.
Same with this E350, except the version I got far exceeded my expectations. I first poked around and found this (there are others selling this as well), but this is the seller I bought from:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Benz-OEM-Factory-Service-Repair-Workshop-Manual-PARTS-WIRING-/261577760471?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ce73fded7&vxp=mtr
I actually have a laptop dedicated to car stuff in the garage, connected to the internet, so I can reference what I need without lots of trips in and out of the house. It's been a huge help with the bug build, what did we ever do before the internet lol.
I loaded the 4 CD's onto the laptop per the instructions and I'm amazed at the amount of info. This appears to be what the dealer techs use - I put in the car VIN and up comes anything I need related to diagnostics, service, parts references, etc. for my specific car, not a range of similar models. I can also access the complete build codes for my particular car and they are accurate. Even though I can access info for my car, all of the other models are also included, huge list. There is also a complete EPC (electronic parts catalog) that has component diagrams/parts numbers along with the WIS/ASRA (work instructions) sections.
Very minor example: I've seen info about license plate lamp replacement and what has been posted from other members. I found the complete replacement process in just a few minutes, with diagrams/pics as well. That's a drop in the bucket, of course all other service/maintenances items are covered too.
I also found all of the A, B. etc. services that allow me to check off the items done, easy record keeping. I'm not taking the car in for this stuff unless there is something needed that is more involved than the equipment and ability I have.
The software takes about 37GB on the pc and you can look on the ad for what's needed to support the installation as far as RAM, etc.
I am in no way affiliated with any vendor or anything like that, I simply wanted to note my experience with this software in case there's someone that also does a lot of their own maintenance. Very pleased with this.

The link doesn't work because that particular eBay listing is long gone. Look for "mercedes factory manual" or similar verbage on eBay and I'm sure you'll get some results.

Yes, like that. Its been of great use to me. I keep a laptop in the garage for car stuff, so it's nice to have the info literally at hand.

There's a cheaper version for about $10 that's available. Basically you just need to search for the WIS which is the workshop information system.

If someone has a dropbox or and FTP where they are willing to host it, I'm willing to upload my copy, yes it's 38GB.
The ebay seller is already breaking the rule by distributing it, so I don't feel bad for hurting his business.

I don't even know if WIS program got install or not. I had to download malwareby software to remove savingCOOL (advertising pop up) that got install from WIS download.
After spending 3 hours last night to remove malware, uninstall and clean. I finally got my PC back to normal.

Installing this version is nightmare. You will get a lot more malware pop up and changing your computer setting when installing this WIS to your computer.

Amen to that nightmare, I've been going through this with a guy in NJ (4 disks by mail) and another outfit in UK using their server. If it's not one problem it's a another, slow cpu speed, not enough bandwidth a true PITA. This is the first car in about 20+ I have not been able to get shop manual info about the car. I even signed up for Data (something) for cars at 40 bucks a year and canceled because it was so generic I thought I was looking at a fancy owners manual.

That page MUD refers to is long gone for one reason or another. Installing it on my laptop did not happen. I'm running win 10 home, 64 bit but I could not install it because my CPU is at .90 to 1.5 Ghz. I believe something in the third or fourth generation is needed. The sellers we're helpful but just think about it for 10 or 20 bucks what are we getting? I gave up.

Just get the official Mercedes WIS on eBay. About $6.60 and you just download it.

That one has a ton of sales. I did buy that one and it worked fine and no viruses. Very handy. Also has EPC so you can look up parts for your car too.
