What does this switch do?
Hi there,

Quick question, In the drivers side foot well area (2011 E550 4matic)up by the diagnostic port there is a small round switch. Does anybody know what it does? My first thought was something with the diagnostic port or maybe some cool James-Bond-like feature?

It has to be an after market switch for something under the hood or in the dash. I have the same type of switch in about the same spot and it is a shut off switch for the emblem on the front grill. When you shut it off does anything turn off? Try shutting it off with the car running and then when the car is off. It could be a shut off switch for a dash cam that might have been installed and then taken out. Hope that helps.

I have a 2010 and there is nothing like that next to my OBDII port. Our cars are identical, so it must be aftermarket.

I believe too ,it has to do with an aftermarket stuff .It must be like a master switch to turn on / off things such as rear view cam,parking sensors, auto headlamps and etc .
One of our cars non MB has an exact size switch under the dash and it's for turning on / off the camera

The only thing aftermarket that has been installed is a remote starter. That has to be it.
