Opinion about navigation system and maps

What is your opinion about cars Navigation system and maps ?
I like to use Google maps on my iPhone and does not want to maintain two address and contact database. Do you really use cars Nav system and maps very often or end using your phone more.
It also seems expensive to update the maps.
Any ideas and opinions appreciated
Happy New Year to everybody
Thanks
If the data does not have a POI that I want to go to I call TeleAid and they beam it down to my car. The other option for me is to use the phone and find the address and then enter it in the car system. If my car was just one year younger I could send the address to my car. I think I could make my car use Mbrace that has this function but I don't think it is worth the trouble as TeleAid has been able to beam it down every time so far.
I think the Navi system in the car is very good and a lot better than looking at a small phone display. Also with POIs in the system you can easily call like a hotel, which with a phone is not that simple and creates a safety hazard doing it.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I had a guy offer one but when I asked if I could return it he got kind of flaky.
A couple of guys in the club with W212s agreed we would buy the disc, share the cost and update 3 cars.
I did mine but when we went to do the second car the Comand refused to see it.
That makes me wonder if the code is written to restrict them to 1 time use.
Anybody know for sure? If they are not and it was something in his car I have one to sell.

Garmin and DB announced in April 2013 that Garmin would be supplying future Mercedes cars but I don't know the status of that announcement.

.
It might also be different for the model year. This is in a 2014.

These wrong turn instructions like you explain are most likely due to not updated map data. I know one intersection where the navi instructions are to go straight and after U-turn to turn right just like you explain and i know in the past left turn was not allowed in this intersection. You had to go straight and make a U-turn and then turn right. They have built a left turn lane and now it is all different with left turn allowed but my navi still tells to go straight and do the U like it used to be.
After all, governments have been known to make a rare mistake now and then . . . or much more often.

Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: well, I finally stumbled upon another thread and think I figure it out. On the smartphone, one needs the mBrace app in order to send addresses to the car's navigation; it cannot be done from within Google Maps app. Alternatively, one can go to the mBrace web site on their computer and also submit addresses from there. Lastly, for those that have mBrace AND Mercedes apps, a google search aka google maps search can be done via the COMAND interface and then submitted to navigation. Sadly, I found the data connection to be so slow that searches via mobile would be so much quicker. Anyway, sorry to have chimed in on a slightly older thread but just wanted to answer my own question in case anyone else stumbled here also.
