W212 E63 Park Button Issues
hi there,
lately i've been having problems puttin my car in "P"ark,
button wont activate, has anyone experienced this problem in their E63?
and will this affect the performance of car?

I have seen postings of cars that automatically put themselves in park, and it appears that you have the opposite issue. I am sure they are related. Hopefully when you turn the car off it goes into park and remains in park until it is restarted. I was never a fan of this electronic stalk, and sounds like yours is failing. This should be a lifetime warranty item as it is a safety issue.

I also had the same issue. I sometimes needed to put the car in neutral and shut it off, then it went into park. Car is at the dealer right now for a new windshield, headlamps (hazed up) and I told them about the park button. Turns out it is a common issue and the whole shifter assembly needs to be replaced. They have had it for 3 days now.

spoke to dealership today, apparently its the shifter control module, AU$250 unit. story of my life when it comes to amg modules. mind you I've sold the car and need to fix this before it gets picked up, but car is very sluggish off the mark now, I hope it picks its game up once I fix this unit
