E350 - 2010 - Battery Mystery
Does anyone of you folks know if it's OK to just swap out the main battery in the engine compartment without loosing all the cars' settings etc or does a battery change require providing the car with another source of voltage while the battery is disconnected. Also, is there a second battery in the trunk on the E350, 2010 Luxury model. Thanks for any help that comes my way.
One thing's for sure, Batteries and Winter are not friends!

Actually heat is worse on batteries. When I get read to swap mine, I plan on connecting jumper cables to connectors then swap batteries while the jumper battery is connected.

MB does not require another source of voltage, simply change battery as you would normally. MY10 e350 has one battery in engine compartment + 1.2AH backup battery under dash for electronic transmission gear selector (does not need replacement unless IC warning is displayed).

Had battery in my 2010 changed at four years and one week, which made it one week out of warranty. Roadside Assistance replaced it without any special hook-ups while being switched out.
NOTE: The replacement MB batteries carry ONLY a two year warranty and cost over $300. Warranty was confirmed by MBUSA.
You may want to start thinking about a new battery - just in case.
