climate control works intermittently
Hi,
I have a 2010 E550 and it has 85000 Kms. Since yesterday, I have been observing issues with the Climate control.
In the morning, when I first started the car and drove a bit , the climate control (in Auto) kicked in and blew warm air till the set temperature was achieved . Then I turned my car off for 5 mins as I dropped my kid at the school. When I turned the car on and drove a bit, the system did not kick in although it was getting cooler inside the vehicle.
Eventually the windows started to fog up and I tried to hit the front window defrost but nothing happened. I turned the system off but to no avail.
This evening same thing happened.
Works fine when car starts after a long hiatus but if it is turned off and started after a few minutes, the climate control does not respond.
What could be the issue? Any ideas?
TIA

Could be something with the thermostat. I've had similar issues before on other non-benz cars and it ends up being something with the thermostat. I would book it in and have it looked at

Do the troubleshooting.
W212 needs a scanner to read codes and values, but this old help will give you idea what to look for. http://www.mercedesmedic.com/ac-air-...le-codes-list/

If absolutely nothing happens, I would first check the blower motor. They are known to fail.

Or blend valve or maybe one of the temperature sensors is bad. As others said, only way to find out is to get the car scanned.
