Glad you chose this route. Those who think they can achieve any measurable difference just by ECU reset have low expectations and/or have not experiences what these cars (especially pre-2014 and especially pre-DI) are really capable of as far as "feel" once PB or SB installed.

I get your point but with a 4100 lb car Just cleaning up the ECU is probably all I need. I don't think $225 is all it will take to make is all that sporty.
For fun, that is what the SLK is for.

That's exactly what I was thinking (and said so here) a couple of years ago ... that was before I bought my first (of 3) SB.

So is the Sprint Booster better than Pedalbox?

That's not what I said. I had only SB installed (its price actually more like $300 than $225) in my cars. PedalBox should, based on specs, offer even more fine tuning (if SB's two positions, stock's not counted, are not enough).

My point was that one can not comment that reset is all that's needed (except in cars as noted in one of my above posts - read facelift 2014-on since its W212 forum) until one experiences SB (or PB).

It was a question mate. Not a criticism.
Just wondered if you had experience with both so as to understand.

It's worth every penny of the $246 (taxes). It took no time to install. Biggest issue is what to do with the head unit.

I did the ECU reset. It worked.

I installed the PedalBox - it works much better than just the ECU reset.

If you feel like spending the money, it's recommended you so do.

I went for the routine drives today. I went for the highest setting and acceleration is very much improved. Because there's more throttle being applied, you hear more of my 5.5l's throatiness and some growl; upshifts are crisper and downshifts come instantaneously. The reason I originally started this entire thread was because I thought I had a transmission problem..... 3MB's told me I had a throttle problem and he was correct.

It feels like the car's in a heightened Sport mode all of the time on the max setting.

I'm going to mess with the settings some more and see what the car's own "Sport" setting for the trans and suspension do for performance in the max PedalBox setting.

I'm sure this has PROBABLY been discussed but could this NOT be addressed through the ECU/TCU via a flash/tune? I tried it on my E350 but I didn't feel anything...maybe I'll feel it once I upgrade to an E550zzz

All a Sprint Box/Pedal Box does is make your car think you are pushing the accelerator pedal further and faster than you really are. The tranny's reluctance to shift has NOTHING to do with accelerator position but rather TCU tuning. Transmission shift patterns and response are dumbed down to meet EPA regulations for fuel efficiency and to provide the smoothest ride possible.

If you want a peppier throttle get an ECU tune from OE Tuning. Made a WORLD of difference for my car. The throttle is almost too sensitive, but after I got used to it it's perfect. It does also help that there is a significant mid range power bump.

Just my $0.02

Yes. It was addressed. I did the ECU reset. That was fine. PedalBox is better. Do get the E550, but not the "zzz" version.

AudiA4Turbo22 - hey, maybe I will try the OE ECU tuning. (PedalBox is cool) Please tell me about OE. Send them the ECU? Thx.
