You won't be disappointed with the W212 E550. The power and torque is there when you need it and the airmatic is awesome.

Airmatic is just a nice option, better ride and also sits lower in sport than the sprung counterpart so overall a better look if that's your thing plus the capability to lower relatively easy with realtime adjustment options. The bi turbo definitely way to go if you plan on tweaking for maximum horsepower. If your happy with around 400hp, can't beat the NA motor, it defines quiet, smooth, and reliability.

Had an '07 e63. Loved it, but let it go when the CPO expired.
Driving 2012 GL450 now. Great ride, but ready to give it to the wife and get back into an e-class.
I enjoy sport powerful performance - but trying to decide whether the NA engine in the 2010-11 cars is sufficient, or whether its worth the extra bucks to push into the TT 2012 and up cars. Not going to mod in any way shape or form. Would love input from anyone who has owned both or has extensive seat time therein.

Haven't driven a TTV8 (yet) but from what I've read it appears to be up to half a second faster 0-60 than the NA V8. While the TT accelaration will be closer to your 07 E63, both the NA and TT E550 will be more mild mannered in all other characteristics. Given the 2012 and up models will have warranty coverage, fewer miles, better fuel economy, etc. there is more to consider to justify the price difference.

The TT 550 is smoother and more refined than the raw power of the 6.3. The 6.3 is more responsive and engaging. My 550 is really fast, but often hides the speed.
