A question about interior

Hi guys - I just recently purchased a CPO '11 E350 (photos to come soon).

I have a few questions, thought you guys might know:

1. The seat heater. I see that after maybe 20 mins or so, it shuts down by itself. Is that how its supposed to be?

2. There are 3 12V outlets in my car. Is that standard equipment?

3. I dont have rear entertainment package. However the Comand menu has a "video" sub menu. Can it be used to watch movies or is it for the rear seat package?

Thanks again

Did you get Operator's and COMAND Manuals? If not, you need them.
1. This is normal (and very annoying). Actually if you place it on highest setting (3 lights), it cycles down to middle and then to low and then to off. Also, it turns off every time you turn the car off. So you have to remember to turn it on every time you want to use it.
2. Yes
3. The video submenu lets you watch DVD's while car is not in motion, but you can listen to the DVD's while car is in motion. You can watch DVD's while car is not in motion. Can also watch with just electric power on, but then car automatically shuts off electricity after about 15 minutes (Also very annoying).
Enjoy the car, but read and study the manuals if you have them.
Happy Motoring!

question 1 yes it does shut off by itself after a while. Must be a safety feature of some sort.
Question 2 yes it is standard

I've never had a car that didn't shut off the heated seats after 15-20 minutes

Mine doesn't. I'm surprised, actually. It also keeps them on if I park for less than some amount of time (15 mins?). It does, however, turn off the steering wheel heater, and doesn't have a useful indicator. What a wreck.

Had three different makes of Asian cars with seat heaters and they all stayed on until I turned them off. Stayed at the same level I set. Also, they would be on each time I started the car unless I had actually turned them off.
Don't know how American makes do it.

Some older Lexus have a single on/off switch for the heated seats - they allegedly heat up fast and then turn themselves down to maintain an even factory pre-set temp. Their "self-modulating seat temp" concept was "set and forget" in a good way because you did't have to monkey with the adjustments; however, you lost the ability to chose your desired seat temp. Yup, life is a bunch of trade-off's.
