A small, but important discovery...
I declined the salesperson's offer to show me the car features - I knew the main ones, and plus I read manuals cover to cover (even for a blender - sorry I know it's a little sad).
While fiddling with the steering adjustment, I notice this knob with a little red light. I had a faint memory of reading something in the manual, but didn't pay much attention because heated steering wheel wasn't listed in the options. When I saw, turned it and - voila! heat!
I don't expect our friends from sunnier climes to appreciate this one at all. But for those of us visited by the great freeze every year, this has been a personal fantasy for a very long time. And to discover it in this manner - like found money!
Then checked the ordering list - apparently it was standard for Canadian MY2012.
Can't wait for old man winter (I know I shall live to regret these words, but hey it's getting warmer now. We like to forget the winter visitation as soon as it's April).

If you convert the CD$ prices to US$prices, the Canadian MBs cost less than similar US MB models. For example, the 2015 E250BT 4M list price in Canada is CD$59,500; at current exchange rates, this coverts to about US$46,410 or approx. US$6000 less than the US list price for the RWD version !!!
As for your heated steering wheel, for many years this has been standard on all E Class sedans in Canada, together with heated/folding mirrors.

Just MBC doing its thing messing with SOE and options based on sales rather than let the buyer order.
