AMG....worth it?
The experience of owning an AMG (for me) is worth it...putting a 10 dollar badge cheapens the experience.

now as to the actual TOPIC if an AMG is worth it...
I have a C63 and I reckon its worth every penny.............BUT............only if you have TONS of pennys. petrol consumption is more than I expected so its a weekend car for me. not to mention maintenance. if you have lots of money, sure its a very nice toy, otherwise...
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
it feels great to drive such a machine

......if that's the way you see it..........the HELL with growing up lol
No S-class non-amg owner ever wanted to win the "mine is bigger than yours" award.... Just never happened
I agree with most of you, I don't like fakes, just be proud of what you have.
Some people just want the look of an AMG without the drawbacks since they don't care about nothing else then looking good.
Just because they don't float your boat doesn't mean it's not good and personally I can't give a rats a.. about what people think of what car I drive. It's different strokes for different folks.

and this is coming from a guy who drives an S550.

i think you have a BIGGER thing to prove than most AMG owners out here.
It's also like saying no one should own sports cars.Get rid of the Lambos and Maseratis and Corvettes and SRT's while you're at it! Last edited by DJ Hellfire; May 7, 2015 at 10:18 PM.

Its hard to explain passion using words but that's what it comes down too. A car build specific to the driver from the ground up. Its not just that brute force which comes as a by product of exquisitely tuning that motor and transmission; arised from years of R&D and 10's of millions of dollars. Its also the sleek, almost hard to pick out, added body lines, the super tuned suspension that will rip a tire right off its wheel, how the seats wrap around you as you climb into your machine... Thats why people pay the extra money. One Man, One Engine. Its about passion. And when a guy slaps an AMG emblem on his trunk lid and paints his calipers red its pure disrespect to the all the real gear heads that appreciate and understand what it means to drive AMG. To each their own I suppose but I know Im not speaking for my self when I say by slapping that fake emblem on your car your screaming, Im not proud of what I got- wish it was something els. And BTW I own a E350.. And i Love it. But, I know what AMG is. Maybe one day.

I paid the extra $ to get exactly what you mentioned above and then some. In fact if read the AMG W212 forum, members tune their AMG to get the extra HP or looks stock AMG members don't have, but certainly can get. I know by tuning my AMG, I'll probably never get to race the 700+ HP AMGs. BUT does it come down to who has the best AMG in ones taste, sure it does.
There is just the look of the other driver's face when they are left in the dust by a 4 door sedan that makes me smile, but I don't go look for the race, the race looks for you.
Here is both of my cars for comparison. I de-badge my E350 and I suppose I could of threw some AMG badges on there, but those that knows Mercedes would laugh in my face when so many characters about the E63 sets them apart from the E350.
