E550 found. ELW (extended limited warranty) and other questions.

Hi,

I have been looking for a clean CPO E550 for a long time. I had gotten rid of my 5 series and was pretty set on the E550. Since they are so hard to come by i had to wait.

I have found a vehicle and put in an offer to purchase.

It comes with star certified and i am contemplating whether i should purchase the 160 k km 2 year elw or not.

I am in canada and its a 2012 e550 so it does come with airmatic and distronic and premium.

I have read many threads about airmatic issues and elw threads.

Just wanted an opinion from e550 owners about elw and life with it.

Yes, shop around for the best deal on the ELW that you can get. Think of it as health insurance for your wallet.

Personally I did buy the extra 2 years... With all the gadgets it's worth the peace of mind... but I do drive about 30-40k miles/year so it's a slightly different story there.

That's what i was thinking, if i got one airmatic issue it would pay for itself. Only problem is i am not sure where to get the best deal in canada for ELW but i will start calling dealerships.

I agree, I will do about 14k miles a year or so I suspect i maybe at the edge of the warranty expiring right after two years or 160k km.

Anyone in canada have good experience when it comes to pricing for ELW?
