Lock car w/o key fob

2012 e350- Okay left car to be detailed and after dropping FOB in door slot went back to car parked around front and could not figure out how to lock the doors, obviously keyless didnt work (too far away from FOB). Tried door lock button on inside door panel that also didnt appear to do anything, tried manually pushing down lock pin.. wouldnt go down( like the wife). Had to leave car unlocked so what is the trick? I guess I could always read the manual but then I couldnt make wife jokes.

If you have folding rear seats, perhaps open trunk, get in the car, close door, hit lock switch, crawl to trunk, exit car, close trunk?

if you have the auto trunk closer, maybe you can open the trunk (from the outside, not by crawling thru) and then press the close and lock button. haven't tried it though.

Open both driver's and rear passenger door. Press the locking button on the driver's door panel to lock all doors. Close the driver's door and press its door lock pin down thru the rear door and close the rear door.

The driver's door lock pin can be pressed down only when the door is closed while the rear door pin can be pressed down at any time, i.e. the rear door lock activates when the door is open and the door locking button on the driver's door is pressed.

Forget what I said. The lock button on the trunk lid does not work when the keyfob is not within range. The close button works, just not the close/lock button.

Arrie's way may be the only way to do this from what I tried.
