Laminated Glass

Does the laminated glass make a big difference in noise and isolation when on the highway?

It may provide a little bit benefit for noise insulation but considering the cost of the car $300 is a drop in the bucket. If you are considering it, then do it. You won't regret it.

We drove a (then) brand new 2013 S550 with the lowE glass and laminate windows for a couple days while our E was being repaired. The loudest noise we heard was the fan blower motor and even though it was black on black in 103 temps, it kept the interior very nice after parking in the sun for an hour. It totally spoiled us and I can't say enough good about the two. M-B says there is a 4db reduction with the laminate and it's true. I've driven different S550s w/o the laminate and they are louder, on par with an E. 4db is very noticeable.

We have a 2016 E350 with the optional glass and it does make a difference.
