20" tire size help!!

I have read several post in regards to different setups on 20" rims but I want to know what members are using on their W212 E350/550 RWD airmatic suspensions. I am ready to purchase some 20 x 8.5 (or possibly 20 x 9 if rubbing will not be an issue?)front and 20 x 10 in the rear. Also what offset is best? I just want to avoid rubbing and maintain somewhat of a comfortable ride. Thanks for any input!!

It seems like the most widely recommended is the front 245/30r20.... and 275/30r20 rear combo...

I spoke with need for speed and they recommended the 245/30r20 front with 285/25r20 rear for my application being a 4matic.

25 series on the rear is like having a rubber band wrapped on your rims. might as well buy 2 extra rear wheels coz you'll need it soon if you run those tyres. no protection at all imo.

That's what I said. The need 4 speed rep claims it offers more protection than the 275/30r20 which made little sense to me... but I agree. It seems very sketchy to run a 25!

if you're running 10" or more wheels on the rear, then it might make sense since you'll be stretching up the 275 a bit, but not so much with 285. but a lot of people here have gotten away with 275/30 rear so i can't see any reason why risk a 25 series profile. unless you're putting your car on a a show and not driving it then yeah, that should look killer.

8.5 front, 10" rears were the topic of the conversation...

I'd just been confirming the 10" rear. I also agree it seems crazy to run that low profile of a tire on a daily driven vehicle.

What part of Oz are you in? My girlfriend is in Melbourne for a couple months before she makes the permanent return.

2010 E350 4Matic
Hi all,

I am a newbie here and need your advice...I found someone is selling 20" wheels and tires as a package and am wondering if the specs below will fit 2010 E350 fine.

It is what it is...please tell me if this will work or not work for my car.

• Bolt Pattern: 5 x 112mm (plus) +35mm off set
• 20" x 8.5" 225/35R20
• Tires are 9" wide x 26" tall.

Thanks in advance.

Good info DJ Hellfire!! What about 20 x 9's? The rims I really want come staggered with 20 x 9 up front but I don't want roll my fenders or worry of the tires rubbing.

This is because the 285/25-20 will give you the closest rolling diameter to the front 245/30-20 Front as well as the stock 245/40-18. And yeah, you will lose about .44" of side wall with the 285 vs the 275 (meaning you will have less rim protection). But the 275 is actually ADDING increased rolling diameter above the stock tire.

However, if you pair the 275/30 with the 235/35, you will have increased rolling diameter vs stock, but it will be even front to back. So it will still be pretty safe for the 4Matic. But the 285/25 & 245/30 combo will have you closest to stock rolling diameter and will provide the most accurate speedometer.

I mentioned them in my first post with the recommended offset to avoid rubbing. All the sizes I mentioned above work without rubbing, even with lowered suspension. I took these directly from what others are already running.

That 20x10 +45 might look a little weak in the back but will still look great. But still nice wheels!

20 wheels with 245/30/20 Lexani tires

Here is my setup on my W212 the 30 series run fine and the comfort is still there but I kind of wish I can go with a 35 series tire instead just not too sure if it will rub or not. Here are some photos of my wheels and tires. Wheels are FERRADA F8-FR8 20X9 35
