JL Audio H.O. Box
seems both the 12w6 and 10w7 HO box is VERY close to fitting in the trunk of a w212 sedan. I'm curious if anyone has seen one or put one in before making a long drive to a potential craigslist acquisition ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
with the way there is a small lip at the front of the cargo area, I'm concerned how far in the box can be pushed in (flushed up against rear seats to minimize lost cargo space)
Thank you!

I might be going that route as well. I have had a 10w7 and 12w7 in the past.... strongly considering the 12w6. I have found a few craigslist deals lately, a 10w7 and 12w6 (both with 500/1's, both in the jl HO boxes). I'm hoping that one will fit for the time being until I can get around to fabricating a custom enclosure and tuning it appropriately to free up the truck space again. 10w7 ho box MAY fit.... 12w6 I feel like is going to be very unlikely. I'll report back if I am able to line up a test fit or acquisition.

Follow up.... Both the 10w7 and 12w6 HO box will fit in the cargo space of the w212. I have a 12w6 HO in mine mown (you just have to remove the little plastic fold down hook to be able to slide the enclosure in). I do plan to build a custom sealed enclosure as the HO box does not recess fully into the trunk due to the electronics compartment on the under side of the deck lid and the raised portion at the front of the space. I do really like the sound of the enclosure though but sadly wish to retain use of the boot.

I'll post up some photos. The face of the box essentially sits flush with the lip of the front of the trunks deck lid. Definitely eats up more space due to not sliding in as far as it could. I may try and relocate a few things in the trunk that are oem to accommodate it better vs building a sealed enclosure as I planned. I've never liked a ported enclosures sound but this "vented" design is spectacular. Showcases the sub nicely and sounds great! Let's the spl hit impressive levels without losing a tighter bass response. The balance they achieved is an achievement.
Amp, I'm running a 500/1v2
I definitely plan to insulate the trunk as there are noticeable rattles outside the car without getting into high volumes.
