ITs a bit dirty now but I've been in 'Ole Blue for 7+ weeks now. Finally getting my (wife's) car back tomorrow. We've put more miles on this loaner than my wifes E350 and my 335i combined (only had the 335 a month)

I only took my 212 E in one time because only one thing has gone wrong with it. I had a choice of a W205 C300 or C400. A GLA, CLA or 2015 E350 Sport that was BASE and I mean BASE. I took the C400 and really loved it! I had no miles restricted and put about 140 miles on it in 2 days.

Cliff notes version. Transmission shifting roughly, dealer kept chasing new possibilities of what was wrong, parts were going to take 4 plus months to come in so MB approved a NEW transmission that still had to get shipped in. Just picked up our 2012 today and all is well with it and the loaner car returned.
All under warranty.

Brought my 2013 E350 in to be checked for the NOTORIOUS (Rattle at Startup Sound). FYI they told me its a... and i quote from the master technician "yeah, its a design flaw on those direct injection v6s, just how it sounds" - Geee... Thanks. Anyways, they gave me a;
2016 E350 (White) The car had ***** and seemed faster than my 2013... yet it is rated at the same HP and both are 7speed auto. Maybe its a newer tranny and feel different. Not sure why, I may need to bring in my car again and complain about it to see what gives with the power in my 13'. I have 49100K miles (factory warrantee ends in 900 miles)...

As far as the loaner seeming faster. probably just the adaptive transmission algorithms.
Try to reset your transmission adaptation and drive it hard for a few days.
I find my car always feels weak after my dad borrows it for a few days. I do a reset after I get it back and then drive it the way I normally do and it feels much faster.

pardon the lack of knowledge on this but ... HOW do i reset the transmission adaption? If there is a post can you post link... I couldnt find. The dealer told me the previous owner was 70+ years old.. So, id like to reset and let the tranny adjust to me. Im 32 and have the need for speed.
Will contact dealer about drain valve, maybe i ask them to reset transmission adaption... if its hard to do myself.

it's very simple to do:
1) turn the key to the run position (don't start the engine)
2) step on the accelerator all the way to the floor past the kick down point, hold for 10 to 15 seconds
3) turn key to off position but don't remove key, release accelerator pedal.
4) don't touch/do anything for 2 to 3 minutes. don't open doors, don't take key out. Just let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes
5) take out key, then re-insert and start engine, drive as you would drive it and over a period of a few days, it'll learn your driving style and adapt to it.
