After lowering an AirMatic does one have to reset the TOE?
I come from the world of W210's, where the suspension geometry is so that even a modest drop of 1.5" will throw off the alignment (namely toe) so badly that you will scrub off a new set of tire completely bald in under 5k miles.
I just purchased an '11 E550 with airmatic and have a set of OEM 20" GL63 wheels on order along with some lowering links to make them look right. Now considering that this car's suspension was originally designed with a dynamically varying ride height in mind, would it be safe to assume that the geometry is so that the toe does not get affected much with a modest ride height change?
I do not mind having the car re-aligned after the lowering link install (I intend to lower about 1.5" in comfort mode), but if it is still within spec at that range I do not want to waste money. I also don't want to burn up a $1200 set of Michelins either...
Any input appreciated!
