Odometer cluster issue

I have 2013 MB E350. Wondering if you can prevent odometer/trip cluster from lighting up. Everytime I touch the door handle or open door with/ without keys. It flashes ' no key detected,' then show odometer/trip. Can I disable this function. Thanks

2014 E350 also restored: 1969 Camaro convertible SS 1957 Chevy Belair 2dr hardtop
I would go back to the dealer and describe the problem and have him reset it

I haven't read of a way to do that. I noticed this behavior also but what's the cause for concern or are you just curious?

I was wondering how we can make the instrument / guage cluster light up all the time as happens in any other car. MB is the only car I know of where the
instrument cluster lights up only when you turn on the headlights / parking lights. It would have looked so elegant and clean even at daytime. .

^That's an interesting point. I would like it to be illuminated all of the time as well.
