Are these rims nice for me? I'm a female... if u have any other suggestions post the pic. Will this look ratchet or nice? Wanted 20s but I read 19s are better.

Im thinking of getting these

I like the style of the rim I just think 20" is too big. Personally I wouldn't go larger than 18" on my car so if you're debating between 19/20 my opinion would be to go with the 19"...

19 or 20's never look ratchet IMO but that's for my age group. Some of the old heads will feel differently I'm sure. I'd go with the 20s if you're in a pothole free environment and do lots of city driving. I'd go with 19s if you're in a pothole heaven like myself or if you do alot of highway driving. Bigger rims get damaged easier from potholes etc. and it effects the cars performance somewhat. Either way whatever makes you happier.

Your call. But I tend to avoid large thin spokes because it makes the brakes look tiny in there. 20's on low profile tires will not ride very well.

I personally like 10 spokes like these. They show enough of the brakes without looking like giant openings. Otherwise...a 5 spoke design with fatter solid spokes (not split). Best of luck with your choice!

Wheels are OK IMHO BUT they take away from the "class" of the vehicle. If cost is a concern I would stick with OEM E63 wheels in 18 or 19. 18's will be less expensive overall but 19's look better. I'm not sure how the roads are where you live but if they're not glass-smooth 19's and 20's will be a bit rough. The only other wheels that I would consider would be forged monoblocks or 3 piece offerings from ADV1, HRE, Vorsteiner,etc... Vorsteiner and HRE (along with others) offer flow-formed (semi-forged) wheels that are "affordable"

That's the thing, I want the car to have class and look less you know... but I'm not sure what rims would not take away from the car, so I'm gad u were able to give me some suggestions as well. I will Google the name of the rims and see what they look like.

The other guy made a comment too about the spokes. That was a good comment as well because even the stock rims I have on now, I can see the brakes and I hate that my rotors are rusted.

I live in South Florida.

These are the ones I found. Are these the ones you were referring too?

I recently bought my E and quickly put some wheels. 20s fit perfectly. Check out Niche wheels (good price, quality and design).

What part of FL are you located in?

Hello Female. You'll love the concave look, makes a big difference. I say stick with 20s because 19s wont make a big difference with what you already have on it stock.

LOL! Thank you. But I hear so much horror stories on here with 20" wheels. The stocks are 18"

How old are you female? Most 20" wheel horror stories come from old guys who dont want to do anything different (besides factory spec) on their cars. Seems like there are plenty of those around here. Yeah you can feel the road more because the tire sidewalls are lower (and harder) but so what no big deal. There is a saying in spanish "la moda aun que me joda"......i'll take a little discomfort as long as i look good. Haha

I would say dont worry about the 20" size making it look cheap, make sure you pick a nicely styled wheel design. THat can screw it up much more than the 20" size can.

Before you look at design.... are you looking for forged or cast or flow formed? That's a great way to first narrow down the selection. Cheaper cast wheels can crack/bend, but Florida roads aren't that bad last I remember when I was there so you might not have an issue. Forged will be more expensive, but have the highest strength. Flow formed is a good mix of strength and price, but you're more limited in your design options. Budget is what typically determines what type you get.

Now for style (and fit), your forging decision will go a long way towards determining as you can get more options with true forged (2-piece, 3-piece, monoblock) than you can with the other types.

As for size, I'd say it depends on if you plan on lowering her. 19s will be pretty standard and will work, but 20s at stock height might start creeping into the donk style look. Of course, when you lower, you're going to have to get used to new driving style to avoid scrapes. Style vs substance.

There are a lot of wheel vendors here on the forums I'd suggest you get in touch with as they can often offer better forum pricing.

You should ask yoyrself what look youre after. Sporty, elegant or both? Ill be bias with 20's since ive got that on my sedan but FLMAS is right, wouldnt make much difference if you go 19's from 18's.

Concave looks great but imo the shape of the 212 is more edgy than round. So i went for a deep dish look instead. Works really well especially with the rear fender bulge. I had concaves on my 211 coz i reckon the round shape works better with it. But again, thats just me. Ill show you a couple of pics so you can have an idea of what im sayin.

At the end of the day, its your car, your choice. And dont forget, wheels are one of the easiest thing to change. One minute you love how it looks, next thing you know youre bored with it and looking for a new look. so dont worry too much on the design coz theres a lot out there. just pick the one you like and get it. for me, id rather be a bit different than looking like the neighbours E.
