Is this HID or regular halogen?

My left low beam went out and I'm curious if I have HID or regular halogen lamps? The lamps project yellowish lights so I'm not sure if it's HID.

If it's yellowish, most likely standard halogen which means you'll need H7 bulb if you're looking to replace. Might be an opportunity also to upgrade to an HID conversion kit as well

^^^Wouldn't he need an H7 bulb even if it wasn't a halogen light that blew?

I thought H7 refers to the size. So, regardless of whether he had a halogen or HID bulb that went out, he would want to shop for an H7 bulb.

TS, what I believe you need to look for when you shop for the replacement light is make sure you get a low beam and make sure you get either halogen or HID to match your other lights.

As the previous poster pointed out though, now might be a good time to consider changing both the low/high beams to HID because the kit only costs around $140 plus installation. By purchasing a kit you also get to select what color light you like best.

Do you have headlight washers? I can't see cut-outs in the picture you posted so I'm assuming not. No washers = no xenons, at least on pre-facelift.

The bixenon bulb is different, can't remember if it's D1S or D2S, but H7 is a halogen bulb. Another way to tell is to run your VIN through a vin database and get the datacard like epcnet or one of those russian knock off sites.

Also in terms of color temperature, only the 4300k ones are considered street legal if you also have the xenon projectors, otherwise all other colors do not meet DOT approval and the local police can ticket you if it's obviously not a street legal color. Also the kits are probably not street legal unless you also change out the projectors.

Yes, H7 is the bulb key, but that's the key for stock halogen. If he has oem xenons, he'll actually need D1S bulbs.

OP, if you're confused as to what type of bulb you need, you can always pull out your stock bulb and post a pic of it or email to us at aznoptics@gmail.com and we can identify the bulb for you so you know what you'll need.

Your pictures does not show headlight washer cutout, so it's likely it's regular halogen bulbs and not the HID from the lighting package.

You'll need regular halogen H7 bulbs.
