Park assist - does it work?

I was wondering if park assist is a worthwhile option. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with it? Have you used it in parallel and perpendicular parking situations?

My salesman demonstrated it to me, and it does work. I have not use it yet.

My inexperienced salesman also tried it to parallel park and couldn't get it to work. He said "I've only ever seen it work once".

It works well for someone who does not posses the skill to parallel park, but can follow directions on the dash monitor.

It works but it's slow relative to a skilled parallel-parker.

^^^ I'm too impatient to use it. I do enjoy the parking sensors and surround view cameras.

I would pay to have it removed from my car. It's useless and the arrows popping up on my dash are distracting.

It works. I used it once but don't really need it.

Has to be one of the most highly advertised and least used options across all model cars. I live in a large city and I have never seen someone backing into a parking space with their hands off the wheel. Not even one time.

only works when there's loads of space (IE when you can easily park it yourself)

My 2014 E350 has it and I use the 360 cameras and sensors almost every day, and have tried the automatic parking in both parking modes and it worked fine. Agree with the others, it is slow, but for really tight front/back parking where I couldn't find a better parking space, it has worked fine for me.
