The noise did not go away. I had suspected the sway bar link because the rubber boot with grease leaking out. Now I am worry that it might worn out front shocks. I only hear creaking sound from suspension area only rough road. Bushing on control arms and boot on tire rod all in good shape

dont remember at what mileage ~ 90k i looked under the car and found that my left sway bar link was in exactly the same shape as yours. Went with original ones for replacement. Just saying

For now I am doing nothing as I hardly drive on rough road.

Just wanted to chime in. I have nearly 185K on my 2011 E350 4matic. It runs and drives very well and hasn't given me any issues in the 11K miles I've put on it. Prior owner said only thing that went wrong for him in prior 100K miles was a headlight bulb.

Great thread.
I'm surprised I didn't see anything about engine mounts being replaced, as I've been told that's fairly common. Plus, I'm being told mine need to be replaced. :0
Did I miss it, or is that just "regular maintenance"?

I now have 113,000 miles. My only issue has been a bad idler pulley at 112,000 miles. It had a rattle while running, I went to replace it and noticed the threads were damaged from slight wobble. I then had to replace the water pump which holds the idler pulleys. $260 for a water pump and pulleys with a belt on FCP euro. The water pump was in excellent condition and didn't need to be replaced.

Engine mounts on average need replacing at 150k miles, but depending on driving conditions could be sooner or closer to 200k. Mine are still quite good at 113k miles, no cabin vibrations.

High mileage award / badge -

For those of you with over 155k miles; are you aware that MB gives a high-mileage award that includes a grill badge and a certificate in a hard folder? See above.
Yep! You can print out the from from MBCA. You then have to go to an MB dealer to have the service manager confirm mileage and sign the form.
The awards are available for 250k, 500k, 750k and 1M kilometers and the highest is 1M miles . Here is a link to the form: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...leageaward.pdf Fill it out and take the form and your car to your local MB dealership.

I wonder if mine really need to be replaced. Is the indication that they should be replaced simply a lot of vibration on the steering wheel while idle?

You'll notice vibration on the steering wheel while parked or at a stop, center console vibration, the little compartment under the seat vibrating. A test to perform is to hold the brake and press the accelerator at the same time, a few times while your hood is open and looking for the engine trying to jump out.

Not sure it's the sign of leasing culture or that build quality isn't as robust anymore but this 155K award and stuff is, well, somewhat of a let down. I have over 251K on my Lexus and My mom's 1984 300SD ran over 180K miles before we gave it away to a distant family member who needed a car.... I hope I don't need any major repairs soon. I'm close to 70K miles so far. Knock on wood.
edited: the lexus mentioned above is a 2001 Model. Not the one on my signature line.

184,000 miles. The idler pulley bearing froze and damaged other components including the harmonic balancer. Otherwise a great car.

All these stories over 100k are encouraging to me.
At not even 60k miles on mine, I was wondering what the outlook may be. I've gone through the more typical stuff, mounts, torn seat, faded wood, but other than the mounts, no mechanical issues.
I think in cases like mine where the car is obviously driven few miles per year, it's going to be time impacting some components other than mileage.
My outlook is that I am fortunate to have tools and willingness to tackle diy maintenance/repairs, plus the delta $$ between my used 2011 and a 1-2 year old vehicle is too great to get scared and dump a nice car in great shape. I know of many that are essentially held hostage by a warranty.

To me my ride has a lot of miles on it. I just brought it in for the 5th oil change in 5 years. Almost have 15,000 miles. Still have 10 months on original warranty from MB. I do not think I will bring it into dealer once warranty is up. Love working on cars but I am getting to old to crawl under them. Will either trade car in or find someone who can do the maintenance reasonably.

So the red/black thing on the picture is my semi-retirement gift to myself. I am pretty generous

Having a trailer, I was able to pick up the lift locally for less than $2000.
First use was lifting 3000 lb garden sculpture from a trailer for future placement. The thing comes with casters. PRICELESS.
Here is amazon listing
