Cold Transmission Noise
Good morning everyone. So far I have to say it's been a huge delight to own my 2014 E350 compared to my 2011 GT500. But one thing I did notice is there is a drone that seems to come from the transmission when the car is started cold. It goes away after 10-15 mins of driving but is still slightly present during normal temps. The other E350's i test drove didn't seem to have this unless the cars were already at normal operating temps. Have anyone ever experienced this and if so what would be the fix for it?

To aid in your question I have an older model with a bigger engine so I tend not to notice smaller sounds as much as others might notice. Unless something is obviously sounding out of place I probably wouldn't really notice it. I have read others complain about a multitude of drone type of noises on this forum. Hopefully someone can help you with this issue.

Don't get me wrong I am a power hog but there's a such thing as usable power. The shelby was more of a sledge hammer which got the job done but kept you on high alert all the time. I was going great to trade it in for a cayman s but found those to be too cramped. E63 is too expensive for me plus mileage was around the same as the shelby. I'm very content with my e350. Yes it's slow at the start but is peppy at highway speeds. I will break down and get me another sports car but something thats more precision than power.

Ahh I see perfect explanation. I've always wanted a Mustang and I plan on getting an older one just to have an work on as my kids eventually get old enough to move out. I've been looking at the really old ones like 90-94 area.
I agree the 350 will do more than enough especially on the highway. Glad that you enjoy it and I hope your issue gets resolved. It's a great car.
