Replacement mats
I am thinking of getting Lloyd's Ultimat carpet mats for my "E." Has anyone tried to move the metallic Mercedes-Benz badge from the OEM mats to different ones? MB will not permit Lloyd's to place anything resembling Merecedes-Benz on mats.

Our OEM Merc carpeted mats are a terribly low budget affair in my opinion. I'm not sure Merc could spec any less carpeting material on them and still call them carpeted in good conscience.
Lloyd's Ultimat and Luxe mats look interesting to me especially with all the positive reviews. I say go for it. I hope to read your review.

I actually have used the Lloyd mats in other vehicles and been very satisfied. The OEM's in current car are just good enough to postpone replacing them. No big deal about the badge, but just wondering. Ironically, it appears that MB just placed a piece on tape on the back side of the mats to cover where the badge pins come through.

The oem standard carpeted mats are thin as others have said. The AMG mats, however, are pricey but much higher quality. I went with these and am happy with them.
Lloyds quality is excellent...more plush and durable. Currently I have them in Nissan Patrol and have had them in other cars beforehand.
Personally I do not like the rubber mats. I think they cheapen the look of the interior. I received a set with my car and keep them in the trunk in case my passenger(s) and I will be getting in the car with muddy footwear.

Older generations had nice OEM mats. Love the plush feel of the mats in my W208. I purchased replacements from the dealer a couple years ago and it really freshened up the interior. They even have nice embroidered logos. I'm also disappointed with the new W212 floor mats.
