Power folding mirrors/blind spot assist
Ok...the Admiral got her loaded 2014 E350 (new to me 25k black on tan P2/DT/BS/AMG), and like a lot of other people, it never occurred to me the damn thing didn't have power folding mirrors.* However, I've read a lot and I'm reading that replacing them with new mirrors and a control box (and probably having the vehicle recoded) will do the trick. There also seems to be an alternate process of just adding the motors, but I haven't figured that out yet (and it may be a mirage). What I haven't seen is confirmation that you can do the power folding thing if the mirrors are blindspot equipped. Anyone have any experience before I start shelling out a grand? Greatly appreciated...long time member but we've been GL people and only now testing this whole sedan thing.
*I get that it doesn't matter to some people, but I like looking at the car to be sure it is locked, and narrowing the vehicle profile occasionally going through drive-throughs, etc. Worth it to me to follow this path...I'm also going to figure out some option for HUD...but I'm not going to run a stupid f'ing wire from the ALDL to some cheesy pad on the dash...thinking I can hardwire a gps based system somehow but that's another story for another day. FWIW kinda pisses me off that this stuff is boringly normal for the 5 series and MB makes it a state secret...but every marque has its issues (ask me about valve guides blowing oil in a 65k 7 series whenever I think kindly of BMW by the way).

I'm not sure if this is the answer you need, but my E400 is factory-equipped with both blind-spot assist and power folding mirrors.
So, yes, the factory can do it, so I suppose if you are able to source and install all of the appropriate hardware and software you could do it as well.

Sure, you need the mirror arms with integrated motors, updated switch for the door panel, and the coding. You can re-use your existing mirror glass and associated wiring.
