2014 E350 Suspension Components
So this is an off-topic inspired question. I have a 9 years old BMW 5 that I'm "giving" to my family member. I recommended a few replacements to the car. The "upper control arm bushings" was replaced as part of the package. This returns the BMW back to the tight and solid feeling when over speed bumps. When I first drive the E350, I feel the BMW suspension was worn. Replacing the bushing return the glory of the car.
What is the equivalent component in the E350? E350 now handles bumps very well but I was curious about what component might do magic down the road. The bushing of the BMW is $126 for two and two hours to replace both. That was cheap to return the car's tight / solid feeling. Had I known earlier, I'd probably replace these as soon as I start to feel "not so well" when going through bumps.

There are lots of bushings and ball joints in the suspension of any car that are made of rubber and degrade over time and/or mileage wear. Any number of these may need to be replaced to correct such a problem. It's not really a preventative maintenance replacement thing, unless you're doing a complete overhaul on a car that's pretty old, and that gets very expensive. These rubber parts are why a 10-20 year old sports car does not feel so sporty any more. It could... if you take the time and expense of replacing all those rubber parts to make it tight again. I read a great article recently about a guy who bought an old 190E Cosworth and spent thousands on such a process because he wanted to use it for track days.
