E350 CPO
E350 CPO
I am planning to buy a Mercedes car again. Sold my 2007 E to get a 2010 C and subsequently sold that in 2012 to get a VW due to 90 mile round trip commute. With VW saga hopefully coming to an end soon, I started looking and could not help but be drawn to another Mercedes.
So I test drove a CPO '15 C300 and a '14 E350. I didn't care much for the C300, it did not feel as solid and comfortable as the E at all. Even the Burmester sound is sub par to the HK in the E. Being able to depresses the headliner and the door panels so easily and the wood trim feeling plasticy put me right off the newer model C.
So the E it is, and as I drive up to 20K miles per year, the unlimited mile CPO warranty with ability to extend looks promising.
Wanting to get a low mileage E350 sport but the prices sacrosanct dealers are varying by a good 12-15K across cars.
Have been researching the CPO inventory in a 100 mile radius and it seems most are with P1, rear view cam, lane assist, and blind spot.
I would like some guidance on what options are a must and also find out what a good price is for a sub 25K mile variant. Is there room for negotiation in CPO asking prices?
Have looked at KBB, Edmunds and True Car, where else can I get some guidance?
If there's someone on this forum who has recently purchased a MY14 E350 please feel free to chime in or PM with price paid.
Thanks in advance

Bought a CPO 2 weeks ago. black black P1 lane/blind spot 21 thousand miles
Local market prices on the websites were 35K plus.
One dealer had two they dropped sub 35 (sitting on the lot for a while). Wanted to go test drive and woke up one morning and it was dropped to 33400, went to another dealer to compare, a car they had just bought at auction for 30 or 31 was listed for 36, and max they would drop it was 34900 or so (which is fair for a CPO at the time).
After I went to purchasing dealer, they wanted to sell for 33400 + 900 dollar CPO warranty fee. Called them out on their BS and they agreed to 33400.
I didn't negotiate on price, I just took it for the price on the website, because it was fair, and a little bit more than non-CPOs at indy dealerships in the area
I believed it was fair that is why I didn't negotiate, because it was a MBFS off lease, purchased for around 30K by the dealership, they put 2 new tires on it, an alignment, oil change, 2 new keys, and paid CPO certification fee to Mercedes. Very low grossing if not a loss to dealership
Auction prices have softened up about 1000 dollars in past 2 months, if you want a deal, you'll have to target a CPO car that has been sitting for a month and half or so, or a dealership desperate to hit numbers
good luck

they've added 2 years of prepaid maintenance to this months incentive. that's worth about 400+ dollars depending on services due.

There are a massive number of low milage E Classes out there available to CPO that are coming off lease.
If your dealer does not have one with the options you want on the lot they can absolutely find one. When looking at the car my salesman showed me a printout of vehicles being offered by MB Finance and said if I didn't like the color of the one I was looking at he could easily get one with the desired options to CPO.
Personally, in addition to P1 and the Lane Tracking Package I wanted the Lighting Package, a heated steering wheel (MN winters) and MB Tex (kids) and it turns out my local dealer had exactly one 2014 CPO in stock that checked all the boxes. It was the only one on the MB CPO site within 250 miles spec'd like that so I thought it must be "the one" but one look at his printout affirmed that the options are many.

you should be about 32-35 CPO is my guess, region matters a good bit
2 months ago, 27k, add pano roof, active lights, heated wheel to your equipment paid 35k.
One thing I paid attention to was in service date. You can get close to another year of warranty based on that date. My cay went into service June 2014, other 14's I looked at were October 13.
I did negotiate a good bit and shopped MB dealers within 100 miles. Think I knocked $3000 off the "firm" CPO price plus $500 off extended 2 year CPO.
Good luck

I got 2014 E350 Sport black/black with 25k miles about 2 months ago. It's got P1 plus lighting package, lane tracking, parktronic (360 view), keyless, dynamic seat with massage, spoiler, split folding rear seat.
I paid $37,800 but it was listed for $44.900 at the time. Some dealers mark up the sticker price a lot, but most don't nowadays. The price is a little higher in the east coast based on what I have seen. A few days after I bought my car they lowered the listing price to 40k - 41k range. My car's datasheet shows MSRP of $66,200.
The dealer had about 35 CPO E-class but wouldn't go any lower. They also put all 4 new tires and all 4 new rotors and pads so that's worth at least two grand.
Out of all the options, the lighting package with adaptive highbeam was the most amazing and useful one. I just got a chance to use it the other night. It's simply out of this world. On a country road I could see half mile in front of me. The highbeam instantly lowers its trajectory when a car appears on the other side. As soon as the car passes, it goes back up. Even the lowbeam is super bright with the LED.
The Keyless go is a must have option. Out of the 35 cars in their lot, about 15 of them didn't have that. That was pretty shocking.

The guy at the dealership said that all they add is a button in the ignition slot. I guess it turns it as the button is pressed and they is not really required. Not sure how lock and unlock works without touching the keyfob. I do love the touch entry and keyless on my Honda Odyssey.
Thanks for all the replies.
For looks, I am thinking either white (unless I can get designs as there a couple nearby) with black interior. Add carbon fiber lip spoiler and mirror covers. Plastidip the grille and rear emblem Matt black and possibly wheels too.
Wondering if I can get carbon fiber cover for ground effect side skirts also.
Another choice would be a darker color maybe steel grey or lunar blue with grey interior. I would probably add a paint matched lip spoiler and no plastidipping.
There do seem to be a lot of polar white e350s out there.

Be sure to check the service and maintenance history. Most people think a CPO means coverage for any problem. Not true, if prior owner did not keep up to factory required service, through MB or Indy, you can be denied warranty coverage if a problem can be blamed on that.

They can add the button if it's missing, but you need to have the keyless go feature in order for it to work. Look for the sensor on the door handle to lock the doors. If it doesn't have that, it doesn't have keyless go. Or run the vin through a vin checker. Sounds like the dealers at that location isn't telling you the truth. As for the extended CPO warranty, check the extended warranty sub forum, there's several other dealers that will sell it to you at a discount, maybe in the 2-3k range.
I would prefer the 2013 just to get bixenon headlamps with the headlamp washers. Those aren't that common though, you can tell if they have the cut outs for the headlamp washers in the bumper. 2014 went to LED and not all of them had the option for the active curve illumination. Some people also hate the 2014+ because the eco option shuts off the engine at a traffic light and you have to hit the button each time you start the car to disable it. 2014 plus also has a bunch of new features like the collision prevention. That I believe was an option so not all cars have it.

from who? the purchasing dealer?
check out the extended warranty forum and call one of F&I guys there for a fair no haggle quote after you purchase your vehicle.
Anything under 2 grand is a decent price for a CPO extension from what I can surmise

Walk up to the car and grab the door handle and it unlocks as you pull. Start the car by pushing the button where the key would normally be located. Shut off the car by pushing the button again. Upon exiting simply tap the outside of any door handle with the back of your fingers to lock and walk away.
I'm not familiar with the Honda implementation, but compared to a couple other "keyless" rental cars I've driven with similar systems the MB version is much more "intuitive" and seamless. YMMV.
Thanks, I have gone to Feldmanns and Maplewood and have always bought from Maplewood, but I always felt I could do better so last year I ended up stopping at a dealer while in NYC on a shopping weekend, and left with a new ML350, now I am looking to replace my 08 E350.

Good choice over C.
If you have not used Distronic, it is fantastic.
Adaptive lighting with curve is good for old eyes.
Any saftey features are a plus.
Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Thanks, I dont see any with distronic and/or lighting.
Have found one nearby with park assist and lane keeping and pano roof in addition to the run of the mill p1 etc which all seem to have.
How much extra is pano roof worth? Its on a black on black with black headliner

They're not really worth much extra which is why it's a great to find one that has lots of options as the are mostly priced based on color and mileage. If you put it in nadaguide.com, there isn't even a check box for that option.

Just got a quote for $3750 for a two year extension on CPO
