Warm from the start
Is there a heat pump, or electric heater in these W212's

I don't think there are any heater systems for keeping the coolant warm if that is what you mean. My car engine heats up to normal operation temperature in just 3-4 miles of driving and warm air comes out the vents well before that if it is called for.
This engine warms up very quickly compared to all other cars I ever owned.

But when you start the engine cold only a very minimal amount of engine coolant flows thru the radiator as the thermostat is closed. Almost all coolant circulates thru the engine block and head first until the coolant heats up and opens the thermostat that then allows coolant to circulate thru the radiator and also some of it thru the heater core for cabin heater.
These engines just heat up the coolant very quickly. That's all.
