I want to pop the cover off - anyone has experience doing so? Just don't want to break any plastic tabs....

Thank you. I was also able to track down a related video by seaching E350 windshield replacement. The technician used a nylon prying tool like you said. wedged between the glass and the cover and gently twisted and it popped right off.

I am installing a Blackvue dashcam soon and wanted to install it just below the rain sensor cover and wanted to route the cable inside the cover (maybe even make a very small notch) to give it a clean look (Like the pic below). But want to ensure I don't touch any of the sensitive electronics underneath.

Btw here is the link that showed how a W212 windshield gets replaced. This is not a diy - but it shows a lot of removal procedures like molding and windshield wiper arm removal. This man is very thorough also.

Also if you have a general interest on what actually gets done when they replace your windshield, this is a good one. There are some interesting tools of the trade in cutting the urethane glue. Also I hope if I ever need mine replaced, hopefully they are as good as this guy his way around the windshield.
