Pop back a front sensors

Ok, so as I was going on the highway, something hit my front bumper and knocked out my front sensor. I've been trying to pop it back from behind but there's no access at all,, any tips or ideas?

The whole sensor system isn't working.

You may be able to access it from behind by removing the front half of the wheel well liner. If the system is not functioning, the sensor may have been damaged and need to be replaced. Does the system come on at start up and then turn itself off?

Agree with taking off wheel well. Then you can inspect how the other sensors are mounted to see if part of this affected one is broken.

Thanks guys,,

The sensor is OK as far as I think. When the car starts, it works (as if I'm too close to something) then it's disabled.

I'll try again tomorrow day time and see how I can pop it back if I removed the front wheel.

If you could have someone hold the sensor in place while the car is running, you could see if the system stays on or not. That way you know ahead of time if you're looking at just getting it to stay in or perhaps replacing a damaged sensor. Hopefully you just need some superglue.

The sensor clips into a plastic bracket on the backside of the bumper. You just push the fallen sensor back into the bracket. That is provided the spring tongs on the bracket did not break. If it is broken, you can buy a replacement that is affixed with double sided tape. If the system keeps turning off after you have realigned the sensor, then the sensor is probably bad. The shop can hook up to SDS and tell you if this is the case. They can tell which sensors are good and which are bad through the diagnostic tests. They come unpainted, so it will need to be painted to match. I hope you can just push it back into the bracket and all will be good.
