Replacing front sway bars

Car has been making a slight rattle sound, especially when one tire goes over a bump and not the other.

Took it to the MB dealer, they said they couldn't find anything wrong.

Took it to my indy, we went for a ride together. He heard it right away, told me it was the sway bars.

Went back to the shop, he put it up on the lift, and wiggled the front passenger side bar, it made the exact noise.

Says it's "not expensive" but he's working up a price. Of course, he wasn't sure how much MB sway bars are compared to anyone else's.

Anyone have this done? Wondering what kind of coin I am in for.

Car has 93k miles, btw.

Lets hope your sheep herder isn't trying to scam you, because it sounds like you need both sway bar links not the sway bar---each link is about 50 bucks list

As far as sway bar , its a one complete piece , you would have to replace , there is no left or right. I found on ebay there were about 100-160 bucks depends on condition. I had some strange noises in my suspension , and i thought it was the sway bar... even were gonna glue some seals (like i read somewhere on w222 forum , they had issues with those ) but what it turned out to be is a loosen bolt on one of the suspension arms i just tighten it n noise went away. But as far as sway bars its a one piece and its not thatcreally hard to replace if you have right tools.

I wouldn't know a sway bar from a catalytic converter, but I do trust my repair man.

We'll wait for the quote. Thanks for the clarification.
