Tire Pressure Sensor

I washed my car the other day, and afterwards, I got a warning saying that the right rear TPM Sensor was missing. I did not get this warning ever before, so I assume that the pressure from the water when washing the car may have done something to the sensor.

After letting it dry and driving the car I tried to reset it several times, to no avail. It has been a few days since then and still I get the warning, and I have tried again to reset the sensor and nothing works.

Any suggestions before I have to bring it in?

Timing with wash could just be coincidence and it could be the battery in that sensor is bad. Those sensors are sealed so there is no way to check battery in them. Tire shops have wireless readers that look for signal from them. They should be able to tell you if they are getting a reading or not. You could also buy the replacement part and see if a local place will put it in for you.

If you really want to try something beforehand, then rotate the tires and see if the problem follows.
