Apple Carplay for 2014 E350 Sedan
Hi, I just picked up a 2014 E350. Was wondering if anyone has had any luck installing Apple Carplay (I'm guessing an aftermarket solution). Would love to get this feature somehow. Thanks!

MB was looking for an option to retrofit into older cars a while back but CarPlay doesn't work well with the command knob since the system is made for touch screens. You're probably out of luck :/

really? why must it be touch screen? there are only like 8 icons and for me, add Spotify make it 9 icons. In my 2017 audi Q7, it's not a touch screen, in similar fashion you just turn the dial to move icon to icon from page 1 to page 2.
Apple CarPlay is just okay. When it's linked, if Apple carplay don't have he same apps on your phone, when you're connected, you don't get alerts from non apple carpal apps. which is annoying. The whole phone goes silent and no vibration.

As soon as they figure out a way to enable all or most apps in CarPlay, it will become a cool thing to have. For now, it's just an OK novelty w/o real value.
You can't use Google Maps, which gives you routing with consideration to traffic, which is the most valuable feature for me.
The option to listen to and answer text messages via voice command is a nice to have, but not really something that I would call a make or brake feature.
