Rotor\Brake question

so im shopping around for new set of rotors and brakes , but i cant figure out if coupe , sedan 350 , sedan 550 or sedan 4matic have any difference in size of rotors and\or brakes. some web sites say that 350 sedan size rotors will not fit 550 , but in my understanding , they are the same as long as they made for a sedan and 350 or 550 dont matter , unless its a coupe , apparently coupe has a smaller radius rotor 320 mm compare to 340mm for sedan.
1. will 350 sedan rotors fit my 550 ?
2. any aftermarket suggestions?

p.s these warped rotors drive me crazy. hate this BS. mercedes needs to replace that **** for free with their rotor quality.

p.s.2 i know there are a whole lot of threads about brakes and rotors but couldnt find anything about questions i have.

those who changed rotors/pads please tell us your expereince and what you have used. im pretty sure it will be helpful for a lot of mercedes lovers ))

Get in touch with R1concepts on line. I've used them with great results. They have several levels of rotor and pads you can pick from.

I always thought the rotors are different sizes on the 350 and 550 but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I'm almost positive the calipers are different due to the increased power and the need for better stopping strength.

I installed new rotors /pads a couple of months ago. All was well but recently I am feeling a little small shudder again while braking. I used rotors/pads from brakeperformance.com. Been using them on all of my last 6-7 cars and never an issue.
I'm starting to believe it's not the rotors and maybe the calipers?

I installed new Centric rotors three months ago, but kept the OEM pads, which were as-new. Still smooth as silk.

were the pads in good comdition? all smooth and even?
and as far as rotors they seem to be a real good quality , since i guess centric and stoptech doing business together , cuz on the box that rotors were in it had both logos on it.

The brake guy said the existing pads were virtually new and not to spend my money on replacements, which I would willingly have done.

I have the 550. I'm thinking maybe one piston closes more than the others causing uneven rotor wear? If we keep changing rotors and pads, there is something going on

I had my first set of Orem rotors warp badly after only 2000 miles on my E550. The second set of Orem rotors lasted 5000 miles! My latest set of Centric rotors are at 6000 and still smooth as silk. Go aftermarket rather than Orem. You'll save lots of money and aggravation.

what brake pads you use with your centric rotors? and you got the High carbon rotors ones right? nit the Ctek ones?
yea centric seems to be more of a quality than oem zimmerman.
so looks like the rotors is the issue then.

well looks like we were getting bad oem rotors... and it prolly has nothing to do with calipers

I got the rotors on the flea bay for $79 each! I went with the recommended ceramic pads. No dust, no warp, no decrease in performance. Make sure you get the right diameter, mine were 360mm for the 2014 E550. I know they went small in more recent years.

I think they were Pagid but I'm not 100% on that.

If interested in some Pagid racing pads, I am the Parts Manager at TRG (The Racers Group) if you mention this forum I can help work a discount on some Racing pads. 707-935-3999
