Help with purchasing a new Car

Hey guys,

I've had my C300 for a few years and its about time I get a new Benz. I've been eyeing on a W212 but preferable a E550 or E63 but I'm not exactly sure what. What are some main points that I should be looking out for when purchasing a W212 (either E550 or E63). I found a few online that I might go see in the next few days, thoughts? Also besides that bigger engine (and price) in a E63, whats the difference between E550 VS E63.

E63:

E550:

Thank you,

2010 E550
E63 is going to be superior in performance in every aspect. Suspension, horsepower, torque, stopping power, etc. And the body style is also more aggressive. There's also more driving modes. Interior is slightly different with a suede roof liner and nicer seats, gauges, etc. And that wonderful exhaust note.

I have an E550, it has plenty of power and you never have to worry about the tremendous maintenance costs. Replacing brakes and rotors will be A LOT more expensive on an E63 vs E550, among other things.

Coming from a C300, the boost in power from an E550 should impress you. If you can afford an E63, then by all means get that. I would have if I could afford it.

When you're looking for a car, make sure it's got the Premium 2 package. Easiest way to tell if it has it is keyless-go.

Make sure the airmatic suspension is functioning too. If you can, test it by raising and lowering the car, there's a button, ask the owner. Replacing one of those is at least a grand.

If you can afford an E63, you should check out this one in the forum, one of the few aggressively priced E63's I've seen in a while.

Oh as for the E63 problems, I can't remember when they fixed the head bolt problem, was it 2010 or 2011? And yes, brakes are way more expensive on the E63 vs the E550. Even the E550 brakes are more than E350 brakes.
