Tire profile/fitment Q for 350
Stock 2014 with the factory 18"s, and 245/40 tires. Anyone either consider, or actually installed 245/45 profile tires?
Just curious if you found the added ride comfort worth it (ours doesn't ride "badly" of course, but a bit more compliance over street/fwy irregularities would be nice ), or if the added profile otherwise looked weird/off in any way? Keep in mind this is the wife's car and she's no canyon carver, but I don't want the add'l 5% sidewall profile to rub ...or look bad

Yeah, I'm not sure about the fit in the front as that looks tighter, but my gut says the add'l 5% in sidewall (as per TireRack's cited dimensions) won't be enough to rub. But how it will look is a different thing altogether!
The obvious trend for years has been bigger wheels and thinner sidewalls: sports cars, yes, but a luxo commuter/trip cruiser, not so much, IMHO. FWIW, when on the hunt I was looking for the "Luxury" models, in part because of the 17" wheels, but the "Sport" outnumbered them (CPOs, anyway) like 20:1 so really had no choice. Anyone who has tried 45-series tires on the stock 18s, please chime in with your thoughts
