E350 Side view miror help!

I live on a narrow street and it was trash pickup day. While driving up I misjudged distance and just tapped the end of my passenger side view on a blue bin.

The mirror popped off and dangled by the wires. I snapped it back in and only while adjusting the mirror and watching it fall off again did I realize a piece inside broke.

Here's a link to MBWorlds picture pointing exactly the piece that snapped

https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...des_mirror.jpg

I'd love to replace just the disk inside. Anyone know where I can get one or even a bad motor I can salvage that piece from?

It would probably help if you filled out your profile and mentioned what year and model car you have.

That disk is the base that the servo motors that move the mirror attach to. You may get lucky and find a junkyard part, but maybe not depending on the year of the vehicle. Stand by for sticker shock, unless you can glue the broken plastic back together. And whatever you do, dont damage the glass or any of the wires coming from it.

2012, but it looks like the same part is used for several years. Cant find the other piece to glue it. I've found the motor online for $100, sucks but not as bad as you and I expected.

Since I posted in the E Class W212 forum, it's probably and E within the year range.

The E350 covers the range of 2010-2016 and included the coupe. 2014+ also had the face lift. There are several parts sites out there and they all require that you start by selecting a year. It's a lot easier to help people if you're more specific. Without a year, I didn't bother.

The motors are the same on all E class, and other models. However, the plug is difficult between models with memory and non memory seat. There are two extra pins on the plug on cars with memory seats.
