putting some amg mufflers on an E550
I have a mechanic friend who has a line on both a set of E63 mufflers and a full catback exhaust system from an E63. I'm trying to decide what the differences would be if I swap either option onto my 2011 E550. My goal is to get as close to the AMG sound as possible.
Any thoughts on the pros/cons of these 2 options would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Resonator is slightly different. Make sure you get the quad tips if you go muffler only. I imagine that will potentially be the biggest difference if you buy muffler only vs the full system.

Lucky! I have a 2010 E550 sedan. Im looking everywhere in Canada for some AMG e63 mufflers. Don't forget the current diffuser is too small for the quad tips, a normal e63 diffuser is 100bucks on ebay painted. 300+ for carbon with fins! Sound clips please!

I enlarged the openings on my stock diffuser to accommodate the dual tips on my Meisterschaft e63 system. Cost=Free. I will probably wrap the diffuser in vinyl carbon this spring or may replace it with an actual carbon fiber offering but it looks fine and has become a non-issue. Remove material slowly, than trace the pattern and carry it over to the other side so things match. Took about 20 minutes to do. Easier than dealing with drilling the rivets.
