Key fob issues

Hi everyone,
For some reason sometimes but more often now I been having problems with the key fob not working and killing the batteries fast. When I bought the car I changed the battery every 8 months or so now it barely last a month before I have to change it again. Now I changed the battery 2 weeks ago and it order for the key to work I have to take out the battery and put it back in so I can unlock my car. A couple hours later I can unlock the my car without any issues and it would be fine for a couple of days. But it's weird that everytime I put a brand new battery works fine for the first 2 weeks. So now I believe it's not the battery so I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem and got it fixed.

Do you have a second key? If these issues don't exist in that second key then it's the first key :B

Also, how close do you leave the keys to your car? If your car has key-less go it might be communicating with the key constantly if it's too close.

When was the last time you were at the dealer? I think there's some thread that mentions a TSB and I seem to recall there was one where there was some update that was needed to fix that problem.

Oh here it is:

I do have a second key which I have been using since yesterday because they other key stopped working. I did read that before about the key being too close to the car but My keys are usually 20 to 30 feet away from my car when I'm home so I really doubt my key would still communicate with my car being that far away.

the last time I went to the dealer was may of this year.. I'm going to call the dealer to see if they have an update for the key and hopefully that fixes the problem and I don't have to buy a new key. Thanks for the website

I would also try leaving the battery out of the key for a while and see if anything changes.

do the prongs inside that touch the battery make a good connection? Might need to bend them up just a muff hair to make better contact.....just an idea and I wanted to say muff hair too........GL
