Floor mats
Finally ordered new Lloyd's mats from autoanything. Great looking, great fit and greater price. Wanted something darker than the very light gray OEM MB mats, but did not want black.
Anybody know how to remove the metalic silver Mercedes-Benz logo from the OEM mats? I would like to transfer them to the new ones. Appears they are attached with "rivets" from the back going through a metalic plate.
MB will not permit Lloyd's to incorporate any MB logos, names, etc., whereas other auto manufacutures do.
I told the rep. to embroider them with Mercedes as that is my wife's name and it is her car. He said MB won't allow that either. Tacky!

We have three different winter mats for our two E classes:
The OEM Mercedes all weather mats stink. The rear mats are too small for the rear seats, and the front mat on the driver's side has a separation for the dead pedal which allows messes to make it to the carpet below.
3D Maxpider mats are great. Fit is fantastic, and the driver's side mat is deep and covers the dead pedal well.
Weathertech mats are eat too. The material isn't as thick as the Maxpider mats, so the quality doesn't feel as st one, and the driver's side mats doesn't cover the dead pedal as well as the Maxpider. Fit is superb- perhaps even better than the Maxpider mats. Best feature is the single piece rear mat that covers the hump.

That's the problem with most 3D mats, they are made of hard plastic and very slippery. I really don't need all that coverage as I never take my luxury sedan off road

I have snow and sludge from the snow. One season and the cloth mats are ruined. I switch out the mats during the summer.

I live in Boston and the winter here is just as bad as Illinois. My wife likes to use winter mats, but she use the soft rubber one that is not as slippery as the 3D mats. Nothing worst than snow on the bottom of your shoe and a slippery mat. I usually use the carpet mat all year long and wash them in the spring, I can get about 2 to 3 years out of a set of front mats.

One thing about the Lloyd mats is that they have a velcro piece on backside of the foot rest portion. Also included a matching velcro section with adhesive to attach to the foot rest itself.
This is a step above what MB did. May not be necessary, but nice that they thought about it.
Fortunately, we do not get slush, ice, snow, etc around here. Least not more than 2-3 days per year and then I just leave car in the garage.

ok this seems workable. I'll get the fronts and if they work decent I'll get the rears. really do not get many rear seat passengers. thanks for the input

For the rear if you want coverage over the hump the only one that makes a one piece for the rear is weathertech. It is a rubber mat but it covers the hump.

I have the weathertec rear mats for E class and honestly I'm little bit underwhelmed by it's quality. I bought it precisely because it covers the center hump. It is more or less a thin hard plastic mat that slips so much both at the top and bottom that I had to put the MB all weather mat on top of it.

I remember getting coco mats years ago and was very disappointed. The mats were good, but had hundreds of holes in them due to the design. All the dirt, debris, etc. went straight through to the regular carpet. A friend had the same observation and we both got rid of them within two months of getting them.

I really prefer the texture of OEM all-weather mats. But agree that the rears are terrible for the W212. Our Escalade's are even worse. Does anyone know of a manufacturer using the same types of material? My experience with aftermarket (Husky and WeatherTech) is they're both thin and slippery when wet.
