Headlight Assembly Replacement

Hi everyone,

Well...was involved in a minor fender bender this morning. Only damage is the lense on my headlight cracked (bulb and everything internally is operational). My car is equipped with the HID Xenon lights...and man they are expensive! Dealer quoted by $2k for a new one... found a Lens on eBay, and some used ones way cheaper... curious to see if anybody has done this before? Full replacement or just lens? And tips?

Thanks!!

There are some videos on changing them out online. I believe you need to drop the front bumper to access the bolts which is the hardest part. Other than that, it is not too difficult once you have access. Keep the control module and bulb from the old one in case your replacement doesn't come with working parts. Ebay had used ones for about $500 or so the last time I looked.

Let insurance pay to have it fixed and don't worry about it.
