2010 E class -- rear tailight issue
hello all,
kind of have a weird issue. dont know where to start to trouble shoot...
on the dash screen it says to check my left rear tail lamp. When i turn my blinkers on -- it does not light up the blinker bar. instead it will blink the top and bottom brake lights. i assume this is for safety reasons -- better to have a blinker than not!
my issue is that when i click my alarm -- the blinker lights actually will go off and on. even when i start my car it the rear blinker will work correctly. its only maybe when i drive about a minute that the rear left blinker will stop working and it will then throw the " check rear left tail lamp"
when i unplug the left rear lamp from power and then plug it back it... it seems to work ok for a while... then it throws the errors again. i see no LEDS that are burnt out on within the Blinker section...
brake lights are perfect...
do you think it could be a simple fuse fix? any one else have this issue?

doubt there is a separate fuse for each bulb/function in tail light assembly , i think its 1 fuse per whole tail light side.
might a take the tail light out , and check all of the bulbs in there , pretty sure this is it.

from what i understand the tailight is all LED lights and there are no " bulbs" to replace.... i checked the light over each LED works... its the rear left turn signal that throws it all off..
when i click the alarm button all of the turn signal LEDs light up ... its when i turn the car on it will throw the check the rear lights...
again -- all brake lights work
--- when singaling left -- turn signal will work then error out -- then both top and bottom brake lights signal =(

this kind of reminds me of the headlight problem I had. Obviously a completely different part. But it would work fine at startup but after 40-45 seconds one headlight would turn off, an error message for high beam assist would come on, and would not come back on until the car was restarted. Ended up having to get whole assembly replaced as an internal part had gone bad.

thanks for the information... yeah i tried cleaning the plug / harness with air and it worked for a little bit after doing that then started doing the same thing ( rear blinker stopped working only to move to top and bottom braken light to blink).
