Unhappy No hot air from the vents...

Hi all

I have the BlueTec 220 diesel. (2010 S212 E220TCDI WDD2122021A172629)

I would guess that the mounted equipment in question should be pretty much the same, no matter which engine is mounted.

Anyone know how the hot water from the cooling system is regulated through to the inside blower?

Winter is coming, and I just realized that I have no heat inside my car....

Engine temp is good and the radiator is full. The circulation pump is running good at 0.84A. This pump was replaced last winter when I had the same symptoms...

I've been checking drawings to try to find any regulating gadgets, but no luck (put the VIN in there and use Google translate...)

I'm pretty much out of ideas...

Any ideas would be appreciated! It's still getting colder here in Norway...

I would guess the heater control valve is to blame. Should be under the wiper blade motor on the driver's side...need to remove both wiper blade arms, the long plastic shroud at the base of the windshield, the driver's wiper motor, etc. It's an inexpensive part, will take you about an hour.

Here's a link to an eBay one so you know what you're looking for:

I replaced that valve on my W211. Not sure the W212 valve is the same. Could also be a fault with your front SAM.

Thanks for replies!

So, would the valve change on the w212 be the same as for the w211? Like this:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...rol-valve.html

I've changed duo-valves on a w210, but i'm not familiar to the w211 (or the w212). Have the w212 adopted the heater regulator principle from the w211?

SAM, that would be the left side front fuse-box. Correct? Looks like a pain to change, or would it be a bolt-on change? From what I've read about it so far, a used one would need reprogramming?

Seems like I will start with checking the valve first.

Thanks!!

I'd start with the valve too...cheap and easy. And FYI the one I linked may or may not be for your car...I was just trying to give you a quick look. Let us know how it turns out.

After replacing this heater control valve on my W211 I was still experiencing hot air in the summer months on occasion. The problem was my SAM not communicating with the valve properly and it would stay open and fry me. The SAM for my E500 was around $1,100.
