Hi all,

Recently I have bought a 2010 W212 E250 CGI. I ran out of petrol last tank. The fuel gauge was showing just under 1/4 and the lamp was NOT on. The trip computer did say that I was on reserve, but about 10km before running out of fuel, the computer was showing 100km to empty.

Tonight, same story. Gauge was showing just under 1/4 and the lamp was NOT on, while the trip computer was showing 150km to empty. The car stopped right in front of a petrol station. Something must be wrong.

Anybody had same experience?

It's kinda obvious, you need a new tank level sending unit!!

Called MB here in Sydney and yes, they suspect it could be the sender unit.
Under warranty, so not a huge issue for me.

I'll let you all know how I go.
