I think it's more of a normal wear item, the price is a bit high just compared to other cars, but maybe those that still have them just wince a little and pay up. Failure seems to be in the 80-120k range. For the later models, probably not too many have hit that mileage so the jury might still be out on that. Factory warranty only goes up to 50k so probably very little failure seen there and extended goes to 100k but maybe not enough buy those or the 3 year CPO doesn't kick in that often.

If everyone has to shell out 4K+ at 100k ish miles that's still a MAJOR customer sat issue and will very likely keep them out their next Benz and thus break the cycle MB works so hard on...also a lot CPO cars out there with unlimited mile warr....mine incl..again must be killing them on warr repairs. Lol
